SEAMEO CED has released its landmark research report "State of Adult Literacy in Southeast Asia 2026," providing the most comprehensive analysis of adult learning needs across the region to date.
The report, compiled from data gathered across 11 countries, reveals that approximately 15 million adults in Southeast Asia still lack basic literacy skills. However, it also identifies promising trends in community-based learning programs and mobile education technologies.
The full report is available for download and includes policy recommendations for ministries of education, donors, and community organisations.
